1965 documented parachute and stunt work → [largely undocumented period] → 1988 SAFE award
The original SAFE citation could potentially identify:
- Schmoll’s employer;
- his professional title;
- a specific rescue, test, or survival incident;
- his technical specialty at the time;
- possible Stanley or UPCO involvement; and
- the people or project associated with the award.
For that reason, the original 1988 SAFE award citation is probably the highest-value unrecovered document concerning Schmoll’s later career.
